Though Soul Train is known for ushering in generations of Black musicians, its most notable component was the infamous “Soul Train Line,” where dancers would strut down a human-bordered pathway, showcasing their best grooves.

The Soul Train Line, introduced in the 1970s, far surpassed its popularity in syndication, becoming a staple piece in Black culture. Often replicated at weddings, birthday parties and cookouts, the Soul Train Line is a motif in almost every social function.
